VIDEO: Giving Growth with Saren Stiegel

About a year ago, I was in a tough place. My department was shaken up by leadership changes and I was desperately on the hunt for something new. My career felt pretty stagnant and I was yearning to make a real impact in the world. I wasn’t quite sure what that looked like so I took every new opportunity. Eventually, this led me to meet Saren Stiegel, founder of the Glow Effect and I couldn’t be more grateful that our paths eventually crossed.

Saren’s entire mantra is around the concept of “giving growth.” For her this means, that first you must learn to give to yourself before you can really give yourself to others. Through her various leadership tracks, she empowers women to silence those awful rackets in our heads to create change in our families and communities.

Since meeting Saren last year, I’ve worked closely with her and through her, have meet countless other influential females creating earth-shaking impact for the good in our world.

The affect is profound. Through her organization, women learn how to use their unique gifts to do make a positive impact and lead with purpose, integrity and truth. And it is through her programming I learned what leadership in this world looks like for me.

“Give Growth” is the inspiration behind my new video series “The Nest” an online conversation on the topics of females in leadership, health and social impact. It’s also the name of Saren’s upcoming event series hitting Los Angeles next week. I sat down with Saren at As We Dwell in Los Angeles to dive a little deeper into this concept for my first episode.

Hope you enjoyed the first episode of “the Nest” and please, give growth by spreading the word. Still looking to get tickets? I'm an accredited public relations professional with more than 10 years of experience working primarily in the nonprofit, corporate foundation, personal finance, mortgage lending and real estate industries.

My most important job, however, is mom to big brother Hunter and baby sister Mekenzie as well as two rescue pit bulls named Jack and Zoe. I met my husband Kevin shortly after graduating from California State University, Fullerton and have bounced around north Orange County together ever since.
