Celebrating Angels Opening Day At Home

Happy Opening Day 2020 baseball fans! In a year that has been anything but normal, it feels good to have something to look forward to this summer.

Even though fans aren’t allowed in the stands, I’m excited to celebrate Angels Opening Day at Home with my little Angel fans and share some fun family-friendly activities created to bring the stadium experience to you.

Catch up on Classic Games and Plays

You can still celebrate all season long, even if the season has been cut short with MLB’s Opening Day at Home, a free rebroadcast of 30 games nationally across various platforms, including digital streaming and social media. Fans have the chance to cheer on their favorite postseason triumphs, plays and more. Head to the MLB Vault on YouTube to get started before the big day.

Plan a Tailgate Party in Your Driveway

Tonight, we invited our favorite Angel fans for a socially distant tailgate party in our driveway, complete with camping chairs, coolers, hot dogs and peanuts. We all dressed in our favorite Angel gear and took photos on the front lawn to commemorate the occasion. We even pulled together a potluck using recipes inspired by stadium concessions, including our favorite Angel Stadium Helmet Nachos.

Complete Any of These Dozen Printable Activities

Angels have created fun, printable activities and coloring pages , perfect for the little slugger in your life. You can draw your own bobblehead or create your own baseball card. Pull a table up next to the tailgate and your kids will be entertained long enough for you to watch at least one inning in peace.

Consider Getting Involved in the Community

This year has taught so many of us that sometimes we just need a helping hand. The Angels Baseball Foundation supports many local organizations including MemorialCare, Alzheimer’s Orange County and the TongueOut Foundation to support COVID-19 relief efforts including grocery deliveries and PPE donations. You can donate to any of these nonprofits and help support a community in need.

However you decide to celebrate Opening Day, be sure to enjoy the time spent with your little ones making memories. This year has been tough on most people and now is a great time to find the silver lining in slowing down and finding creative ways to keep traditions going. While we might not be able to celebrate Opening Day in person, we’re still able to celebrate safely together, and that’s all that matters.
